Biography

Manuel Padilla’s extraordinary art captures the essence of life through his unique treatment of light and dramatic use of color and texture. He is intrigued by both abstract and representational elements, incorporating both in his designs. His elegant figurative compositions usually represent graceful line and forms that capture the energy and romance of life. Manuel was never entirely influenced by any one artist, but by the universal understanding and appreciation of art throughout history. Manuel is dedicating his time, talent, and ideas to Art of painting and combines them with his love of music and extensive travel to create passionate works.

Raised in Santa Rosa, Texas, Manuel and his brother Daniel were encouraged at an early age to develop their artistic talents. They attribute their success to the positive guidance and support of both their family and teachers. The small town environment had a life shaping effect on them. Constantly encouraged, they grew up with a sense of accomplishment not common in larger cities.

Manuel’s career began in store design while he pursued his degree in the Fine Arts at the University of Texas-Pan American. After graduation, he moved to Houston where he continued in his artistic pursuits.

In 2001, Manuel and Daniel embarked on a campaign to become major players in the field of art with their first major international ArtExpo show in New York in March, followed by the San Francisco International ArtExpo in November. They were tapped by the Edna Hibel group to participate in a national tour where they presented their art along with renowned artists Edna Hibel and Pierre Matisse, grandson of Henri Matisse.
